About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Interpret, prepare, and present key actuarial and financial information to support informed leadership decision making.
- Provide guidance and advice regarding technical actuarial issues such as pricing rates, modeling methodology, reserving principles and related matters.
- Focus will be on forward-looking financial outcomes.
- Assess complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance arrangements, and other strategic initiatives, offering guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with leaders from business units and other departments to provide meaningful management reports, support capital planning, and perform performance analysis.
- This involves linking product-level actuarial results to broader FP&A narratives at the enterprise level.
- Act as a trusted partner to Actuarial, Risk, ALM, Investments, Tax, and Finance Transformation teams to deliver integrated financial view.
- Drive key projects to completion by providing leadership and direction to individuals both inside and outside the organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field, and 10 years of related actuarial experience, or Master’s degree in a listed discipline and 8 years of experience.
- FSA and American Academy of Actuaries membership.
- Demonstrate high quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills.
- Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences.
- Solid understanding of risk/return profiles of various assets.
- Extensive experience in the insurance industry, knowledge of regulatory frameworks and thorough understanding of financial markets.
- Proven experience in (setting up) financial models that are used in decision making processes.
- Experience in assessing and analyzing business performance, challenging business strategies, ability to present and interpret the results of the assessment, ability to conduct complex financial research autonomously.
