About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, calculations, modeling and audits.
- Analyze data to support decisions that allow the company to properly manage its risk.
- Extract and analyze premium and loss data, using computer and statistical programs, evaluating results for reasonability and communicating observations to various teams to help achieve bottom-line goals.
- Develop and enhance products, presenting analysis, forecasting, and assessing industry trends.
- Work well as an individual while serving as a key member of the team, as a wide range of important decisions are based on actuarial projections and professional opinions.
- As an actuarial student, grow and develop through the company rotational program while progressing through SOA exams working toward Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field
- Participation in a relevant Actuarial internship or three months of relevant experience
- Completion of one actuarial exam and an active participant in the Actuarial Student Program, taking additional exams for FSA
- Knowledge of advanced mathematical and analytical concepts
- Ability to interpret complex analytical data
- Communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Work well under pressure and within time constraints to accomplish individual and team objectives
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
