About the role
- Oversee onboarding of new plan sponsor retirement plans and conversion of existing plans from other providers
- Provide customized service and communications throughout the installation process to ensure deliverables are met
- Manage relationships with plan sponsors, financial advisors, third party administrators, and internal stakeholders
- Serve as a mentor to more junior staff
- Transition: manage installation of defined contribution retirement plans during start up or conversion for single and multiple employer plans
- Create detailed project plans, analyze deliverable dates and timetables, and evaluate timelines for liquidation and data receipt considering SOX blackout and plan effective dates
- Determine education options and coordinate training delivery; manage transition of funds out of blackout and initiate extension notices if needed
- Compliance/Technical: delegate and monitor record keeping setup, asset transfer, allocation, and first deposits; integrate and map payroll files/methods
- Ensure plan set up consultants prepare documents and employee disclosure material; create and distribute regulatory notices on time
- Conduct consultative plan reviews and assist plan sponsors with compliance questions
- Analyze conversion, payroll, and census files for accuracy; notify sponsors and stakeholders of issues impacting transitions
- Plan and execute internal and external communications and confirm accuracy and delivery of enrollment materials
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
- Five years of experience in the financial services industry including client management, installations/conversions, or contract compliance
- In-depth understanding of retirement plan regulations
- Client focused to provide exceptional customer service
- Outstanding written/oral communication and relationship building skills
- Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple installations
- Problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate numerous systems/applications
- Preferred: Demonstrated expertise managing mid-market plans (assets typically $50 million and above)
