About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and monitor the cost accounting system, ensuring accurate tracking of all direct and indirect costs related to product manufacturing and installation, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and installation expenses
  • Perform regular inventory valuation and reconciliation, coordinating with the Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure inventory records in NetSuite are complete and accurate
  • Analyze manufacturing overhead costs and assist in the development and maintenance of overhead allocation calculations
  • Assist in month-end close activities, including preparation of cost-related journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain, Operations and NetSuite teams to ensure accurate job costing and project cost tracking for product installations
  • Prepare and distribute regular cost reports and dashboards to support management decision-making
  • Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes as they relate to cost of goods sold and operational expenses
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining well-organized and accurate cost accounting records

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2–5+ years of relative accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, including inventory costing, and overhead allocation
  • Experience using ERP systems for cost and inventory accounting
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification, is a plus
  • Experience in a manufacturing or inventory-based environment
  • Working knowledge of month-end close procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Experience with job costing and project-based cost tracking
  • Ability to analyze cost variances and communicate findings clearly to non-accounting stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
