About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to application and data migration initiatives
  • Conduct current state and future state analysis, including GAP analysis and process improvement recommendations
  • Develop detailed requirements documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for implementation teams
  • Represent requirements through process flow diagrams and other visual documentation tools
  • Coordinate project activities across business teams, VITA, CDC, and additional federal and state partners
  • Facilitate project meetings, conference calls, planning sessions, and status updates
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting notes, action items, and follow-up activities
  • Communicate project status, risks, and key milestones to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and progress
  • Participate in functional testing and systems integration testing activities
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, and testing documentation
  • Assist business users during user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Create training materials, user manuals, and conduct end-user training sessions as needed
  • Provide implementation support and post-deployment maintenance coordination
  • Utilize project management and collaboration tools including Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Teams
  • Support documentation and updates related to security and compliance requirements
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and competing demands

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in project planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, business process mapping, procedural writing, and process engineering
  • 7+ years of experience with business analysis, requirements solicitation, and documentation
  • 7+ years of experience facilitating meetings with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • 7+ years of experience with Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile project methodologies
  • 7+ years of experience with SDLC methodologies, quality assurance techniques, and change management procedures
  • 7+ years of experience documenting customer requirements, business processes, and technical specifications
  • 7+ years of experience demonstrating problem-solving, active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • 7+ years of experience in facilitation, collaboration, organization, time management, and presentation skills
  • 7+ years of experience operating effectively in changing environments with multiple priorities
  • 7+ years of experience demonstrating strong analytical, planning, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
  • 5+ years of experience reading logical data models, databases, and programming specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment
  • Candidates must permanently reside locally to the Richmond, VA area to support onsite requirements
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite in Richmond, VA at least one day per week
  • Must be willing and able to complete an onsite interview in Richmond, VA
