About the role

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least seven years of copyediting experience
  • Experience preferably at a news website or magazine
  • Experience with basic fact-checking
  • Familiarity with AP style
  • Ability to help maintain TNR’s style guide
  • Ability to design systems for communicating house-style and AP-style changes to staff
  • Comfort learning third-party applications
  • Experience building editorial newsletters
  • Ability to manage newsletter production and distribution to subscribers
  • Fast, careful editing with strong attention to detail
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments and manage schedule
  • Résumé and cover letter required
  • Must complete a copyediting test prior to interviews
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–3 p.m.
