About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the architecture and design of distributed systems serving millions of insurance leads and transactions
Lead by example through hands-on coding, technical reviews, and system optimization
Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Data teams on scalable API integrations and microservices
Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to enhance performance and maintainability
Support cross-functional development in multiple languages, including Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, and Go
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and foster a high-performing, collaborative environment
Ensure security, reliability, and compliance within engineering deliverables
Contribute to strategic technology roadmap planning and cross-team alignment
Perform related duties, ad hoc tasks, and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend or platform experience
Advanced proficiency in Java
Hands-on experience with at least one additional language such as Kotlin, Python, Go, or TypeScript
Proven experience designing, building, and scaling distributed systems and microservice-based architectures in high-traffic environments
Strong experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and internal/external service integrations
Deep understanding of performance, reliability, and observability, including profiling, logging, metrics, and alerting
Practical experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality practices
Experience collaborating with Product, DevOps, and Data teams
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken English
Must answer employment sponsorship requirements and identify the U.S. state where the position will be performed
Completion of the required Predictive Index assessment
