About the role

  • Own Discord: moderate channels daily, enforce community rules, manage bots and roles
  • Write and publish all community content (patch notes, newsletters, announcements) on-brand and on time
  • Run weekly tournaments and competitive seasons: scheduling, brackets, real-time moderation, results
  • Build direct relationships with top players, streamers, and creators
  • Report weekly on community sentiment: what players love, hate, and want — pulled from Discord, Reddit, and social
  • Create onboarding content for new players: welcome flows, beginner guides, FAQs
  • Manage the referral program: track metrics, improve mechanics, coordinate with marketing
  • Produce posts, graphics (Canva), and short-form videos (CapCut)

Requirements

  • A gamer who plays board games and understands online communities first-hand
  • A Discord expert: bots, permissions, server structure, moderation
  • A strong English writer: clear, warm, consistent across every channel
  • Organised: you manage competing priorities without missing deadlines
  • Empathetic: you resolve conflict calmly and fairly
  • Data-literate: you track metrics and turn community signals into actionable reports
  • Self-directed: you work async and deliver without hand-holding
  • Available on weekends for tournaments and live events
  • Bonus Points: You know Catan or have played on Colonist, you speak Spanish, Portuguese, or German, you have video editing skills (CapCut or similar), you've grown or managed a gaming community before
