About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and development of mechanical air and hydronic system drawings, details, flow diagrams, and system concepts
- Perform and review heating and cooling load calculations
- Prepare biddable mechanical design documents using AutoCAD and Revit
- Coordinate with internal disciplines and external partners to ensure integrated project delivery
- Support project managers in maintaining schedules and technical quality
- Conduct field surveys of existing mechanical systems
- Support construction administration efforts
- Review equipment submittals
- Respond to contractor RFIs
- Participate in site visits and observations
- Deliver mechanical engineering solutions for infrastructure and building services projects across the Northeast
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems, or Energy Engineering
- 2 to 5 years of relevant mechanical HVAC design experience
- Engineer in Training certification required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Building Systems, or Energy Engineering preferred
- Experience with a range of HVAC system types across institutional, commercial, or municipal projects preferred
- Working knowledge of construction administration processes preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit preferred
- Progress toward Professional Engineer licensure preferred
