About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Accompanying patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for exams
- Performing and documenting vital signs
- Assisting with procedures
- Preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorization
- Performing EKGs
- Using CPR skills when required
- Drawing blood providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets
- Responsible for stocking exam rooms, cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards, and performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
- Adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
- At least 1 year of related customer facing experience Required
- Computer knowledge
- Phlebotomy skills and experience
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - National Healthcareer Association Required or Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants Required or Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologist Required or National Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Required
