About the role
- Lead organizational tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function
- Manage experienced professionals responsible for tax liabilities calculation and tax form preparation
- Lead junior employees in tax research, compliance, analysis, and communications with agencies
- Implement organization's tax strategy to optimize tax payments and ensure compliance with tax laws
- Ensure completion of accurate tax returns and oversee tax accounting and transaction recording
- Review, monitor, and advise on federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Communicate and influence stakeholders regarding accounting policies and procedures
- Manage team performance, provide feedback, and foster engagement and development
Requirements
- 5+ years corporate tax experience (required)
- 7+ years corporate tax experience (preferred)
- University degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
- Master’s degree in Tax (preferred)
- CPA License (preferred)
- Insurance and asset management knowledge
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Previous experience as a people leader
- High attention to detail
- Excellent ability to communicate with leaders at all levels internally and externally
- Broad thinker with ability to develop and deliver views on tax filing positions and impacts to corporate income tax provisions
