About the role
- Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join Vertex; lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of fire protection systems while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards\n
- Develop comprehensive fire protection system designs, including sprinklers, alarms, and suppression systems\n
- Create and review detailed engineering plans, schematics, and blueprints\n
- Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to simulate fire scenarios and assess system performance\n
- Maintain accurate records of all fire protection activities and system installations\n
- Lead complex projects and manage key accounts for the company\n
- Provide technical oversight and education to junior engineers\n
- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and industry standards\n
- Conduct thorough fire risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies\n
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and evacuation procedures\n
- Perform regular inspections and testing of fire protection systems\n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities\n
- Establish and enforce safety protocols for project implementation\n
- Create comprehensive technical documentation and maintenance manuals\n
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance department capabilities\n
- Implement quality control measures for all fire protection installations
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering; Master’s degree in fire protection engineering or short course equivalent education of primary competencies of the field\n
- Experience: 5-15 years\' experience in fire protection engineering or a related field\n
- Professional Licenses/Certifications: PE License in at least one US State or territory\n
- Knowledge and Skills: Extensive experience in managing multiple teams and departments; Knowledge of regulatory and industry trends in fire protection engineering; Proficiency in financial management and budgeting; Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
