About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee construction safety compliance across multiple job sites
- Conduct daily safety inspections and prepare detailed reports
- Monitor contractor adherence to OSHA regulations and safety plans
- Review key safety documentation (JHA, fall protection, lift plans, etc.)
- Lead safety discussions during construction meetings and toolbox talks
- Track and report safety incidents, observations, and corrective actions
- Support program leadership with safety reporting and analysis
- Ensure compliance with OCIP requirements and zero-tolerance policies
- Work across multiple campuses/projects in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of commercial construction experience (U.S.)
- 5+ years working in California construction environment
- 2+ years of experience on educational/campus projects
- Strong background in multi-site construction safety management
- Experience with demolition, renovation, and new construction
- Proven ability to manage incident reporting and field safety operations
- Strong communication skills with field teams and leadership
- Certifications (Required): One of the following (active & current):
- - CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
- - SMS (Safety Management Specialist)
- - CSMC (Certified Safety Manager Construction)
- - Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Nice to Have: Experience with OCIP programs, OSHA 500 or HAZWOPER certification, Degree in Construction Management, Safety, or related field, Experience with hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, etc.)
