About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You build a highly innovative MedTech tool.
You act as the Technical Lead within the team, make architectural decisions, and conduct code reviews.
You design, develop, and maintain backend services and implement APIs.
You collaborate with frontend developers to build end-to-end web applications.
You take responsibility for cloud deployment, monitoring, and the reliability of services.
You ensure code quality, testing, documentation, and DevOps best practices.
You brainstorm with product managers and R&D engineers about the product roadmap.

Requirements

What you’ll need

You are already registered for tax purposes in Germany.
At least 5 years of experience in a permanent position in backend or full-stack development.
Expert-level knowledge of Python and FastAPI.
Experience developing scalable RESTful APIs.
Deep understanding of relational databases and data modeling (e.g., PostgreSQL).
Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Experience with containers (Docker) and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Interest in leading a small engineering team technically.
Experience with Kubernetes, WebSockets, identity providers (OAuth 2.0), and monitoring (Grafana).
Basic knowledge of frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript.
Fluent in English and at least A2-level German.
You have been employed with the same employer for at least 3 years.
Ideally has previous experience in MedTech or another highly regulated industry.
