Oversee design, development, building, testing and contribute to operation of the Propulsion Qualification Model and Hydraulic Models for the Nyx Earth spacecraft
Ensure compliance with technical specifications, program schedules, and performance requirements
Collaborate closely with avionics, thermal, and systems engineering to ensure propulsion integration into spacecraft architecture
Devise creative technical solutions to minimize costs and optimize planning while remaining flight representative
Define project milestones and deliverables for propulsion qualification models, supporting parallelisation of proto-flight and ground qualification
Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure program goals are met within budget and on schedule
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers working on propulsion models; provide feedback, performance reviews, and career development guidance
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture promoting innovation, accountability, and excellence
Requirements
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in spacecraft propulsion systems development, with significant exposure to qualification testing and environmental validation processes
Proven leadership experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing engineering teams or leading complex, multidisciplinary projects
Strong understanding of chemical propulsion systems and associated subsystems (e.g., tanks, valves, thrusters)
Experience in MON-MMH is a plus
Experience with propulsion system analysis, modelling, and simulation tools
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth
Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and risk management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Capacity to travel to test sites and partner facilities as required
