About the role

  • Making and documenting well-reasoned consequential decisions in turbomachinery design
  • Engage proactively with development engineers to assist in the conception, refinement, and validation of designs
  • Carrying out the thermomechanical design of cryogenic pump components and assemblies based on specifications and best practices
  • Supervision of external subcontractors and communication with suppliers
  • Analytical modeling of geometric and mechanical problems and implementing solutions in programs

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related and applicable technical discipline. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience
  • Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and mechanical design
  • Some understanding of problems of machine dynamics, such as rotordynamics
  • Good knowledge of materials
  • Good understanding of industry standard and emerging manufacturing methods and their respective constraints
  • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software and drafting
  • Experience writing software/scripts in languages like Python
  • Fluency in English
