About the role
- Making and documenting well-reasoned consequential decisions in turbomachinery design
- Engage proactively with development engineers to assist in the conception, refinement, and validation of designs
- Carrying out the thermomechanical design of cryogenic pump components and assemblies based on specifications and best practices
- Supervision of external subcontractors and communication with suppliers
- Analytical modeling of geometric and mechanical problems and implementing solutions in programs
Requirements
- Minimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related and applicable technical discipline. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and mechanical design
- Some understanding of problems of machine dynamics, such as rotordynamics
- Good knowledge of materials
- Good understanding of industry standard and emerging manufacturing methods and their respective constraints
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software and drafting
- Experience writing software/scripts in languages like Python
- Fluency in English
