About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and federal court filings
Conduct legal research and develop strategic case approaches
Represent clients in state and federal court hearings, mediations, and trials
Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production
Ensure compliance with federal and state procedural rules and court deadlines
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Provide case evaluations and legal recommendations
Collaborate with case managers and support staff
Maintain accurate and timely billing records to meet required billable hours

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5+ years of legal practice
Active federal licensure, with Southern District licensure required
Demonstrated experience in civil litigation
Experience in business law and real estate litigation
Trial experience
Ability to meet a minimum of 60 billable hours bi-weekly (120+ hours per month)
Strong ability to independently manage cases and deadlines
Must be available for court appearances as needed
Experience handling federal litigation matters preferred
Background in estate planning and/or tax law is a plus
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
