Director of Clinical Training – Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling
The Center for Trait-Based TransformationDirector of Clinical Training providing leadership for practicum and internship components of the MCMHC program. Ensuring compliance with CACREP standards and developing clinical partnerships.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide academic and administrative leadership for the practicum and internship components of the Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MCMHC) program
- Ensure compliance with CACREP standards, state licensure requirements, and institutional policies related to clinical education
- Collaborate closely with the Program Director to develop and maintain high-quality clinical training partnerships, supervisor training, and assessment processes that support student competency and program excellence
- Provide oversight and coordination for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the practicum and internship components of the MCMHC program
- Serve as the designated Practicum and Internship Coordinator as required by CACREP
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that ensure compliance with CACREP, SACSCOC, and state licensure standards
- Represent the clinical training component of the program at professional meetings and within external partnerships related to practicum and internship activities
- Engage in regular consultation with site supervisors to monitor student performance and ensure quality supervision
- Oversee the collection and analysis of clinical training data to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement processes grounded in evidence-based decision-making
- Recruit, train, and evaluate adjunct faculty and site supervisors involved in practicum and internship instruction.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program (required)
- Current clinical counseling license and supervision credential in good standing with the relevant state board
- Minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical experience, including direct supervision of counseling students or pre-licensed counselors
- Demonstrated professional counselor identity, including active membership in professional organizations and evidence of scholarly or professional contributions (e.g., presentations, publications, or applied research)
- Demonstrated knowledge of CACREP standards, clinical supervision models, and ethical guidelines for counseling and supervision
- Evidence of effective teaching, advising, and supervision at the graduate level
- Experience in developing and maintaining clinical partnerships and training site supervisors in accordance with CACREP requirements
- Proficiency with digital learning platforms and supervision technologies (e.g., Moodle, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Tevera, or comparable systems)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, students, site supervisors, and community partners
