About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical expertise to identify innovative technologies and operational enhancements improving design, safety, resiliency/reliability, and cost efficiency
- Develop and implement advanced analytical techniques to evaluate facility systems and optimize electrical systems performance
- Apply rigorous, methodical problem-solving and root-cause determination
- Deliver independent, data-driven technical recommendations to management and customers through verbal and written communication
- Develop and evaluate design criteria and concept design packages
- Support construction and commissioning operations
- Develop test plans, interface control documents, and test procedures
- Travel to customer and/or government facilities while representing the company and department professionally
- For the senior level, lead project teams and mentor junior staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited school
- 8 years of experience in design and operation of facility electrical/power systems and controls
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Knowledge of current building codes and regulations, including NFPA, IBC, and UFCs
- Proficiency with power distribution systems modeling and analysis tools such as SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or analogous computer-aided drafting programs
- Ability to work independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment
- Experience developing project requirements and performing electrical calculations
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Current TS/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. government
- U.S. citizenship required for positions with technical responsibilities
- Senior-level alternative requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree, 12 years of relevant experience, a Professional Engineer (PE) license, project management and project-team leadership experience, experience leading or mentoring junior staff, and project cost estimation experience
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, LEED AP accreditation, high power/utility infrastructure engineering, high-density data center design and operations, launch base infrastructure and facilities, SCADA/DCS, PLCs, and control-systems communications
