About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical expertise to identify innovative technologies and operational enhancements improving design, safety, resiliency/reliability, and cost efficiency
Develop and implement advanced analytical techniques to evaluate facility systems and optimize electrical systems performance
Apply rigorous, methodical problem-solving and root-cause determination
Deliver independent, data-driven technical recommendations to management and customers through verbal and written communication
Develop and evaluate design criteria and concept design packages
Support construction and commissioning operations
Develop test plans, interface control documents, and test procedures
Travel to customer and/or government facilities while representing the company and department professionally
For the senior level, lead project teams and mentor junior staff

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited school
8 years of experience in design and operation of facility electrical/power systems and controls
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
Knowledge of current building codes and regulations, including NFPA, IBC, and UFCs
Proficiency with power distribution systems modeling and analysis tools such as SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower
Proficiency with AutoCAD or analogous computer-aided drafting programs
Ability to work independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment
Experience developing project requirements and performing electrical calculations
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel
Current TS/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. government
U.S. citizenship required for positions with technical responsibilities
Senior-level alternative requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree, 12 years of relevant experience, a Professional Engineer (PE) license, project management and project-team leadership experience, experience leading or mentoring junior staff, and project cost estimation experience
Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, LEED AP accreditation, high power/utility infrastructure engineering, high-density data center design and operations, launch base infrastructure and facilities, SCADA/DCS, PLCs, and control-systems communications
