About the role
- Design embedded solutions for the evaluation of novel space-based processors, state-of-the-art on-board processing systems, and data exploitation via artificial intelligence
- Rapidly design and test embedded compute prototypes utilizing FPGAs, SoCs, application specific accelerators, MCUs, and other emerging processors
- Deliver embedded solutions in the areas of accelerated processing, AI at the edge, and/or small satellites
- Develop hardware and/or software to test and evaluate the radiation susceptibility of embedded processors and determine appropriate mitigations
- Leverage your knowledge of embedded computing architectures and design to recommend best practices for government customers
- Present project status, technical findings, and technical demonstrations to your team and customer
- Learn and grow through new work opportunities, trainings, and mentorship from experienced staff
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or related discipline
- Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Familiarity with and some level of proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages; C, C++, Python, FPGA design languages (such as SystemVerilog, VHDL, or HLS frameworks)
- Familiarity with embedded platforms and tool suites such as AMD/Xilinx, ST Microelectronics, Microchip, Altera, Arm, RISC-V, or similar
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Transcripts required
