About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support space mission analyses and operations
  • Perform algorithm assessment and development
  • Perform space protection and space threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis and resiliency assessment
  • Analyze orbit determination, target tracking, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) analysis, and signal integrity
  • Conduct analysis using in-house, custom, commercially available, and government-provided modeling, simulation, and analysis tools
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
  • Participate in concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithm development, and evaluation support for national security space customers
  • Receive training and mentorship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree completed and currently enrolled fulltime in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in physics, applied mathematics, engineering or related discipline OR Senior class standing by internship start date and enrolled in a graduate STEM degree program beginning Fall 2027
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship
  • Completion of Bachelor's degree prior to internship start date
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Experience programming in MatLab, Python, C, C++ or JAVA
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
