About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with TAC Risk Management Pool members in the Northeast Texas Region to deliver risk control consulting services
  • Conduct in-person and virtual consultations, risk assessments, inspections, surveys, safety training, and claims/loss analysis
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management Services regional team to identify service needs and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Deliver safety and risk management presentations at member locations and TAC events
  • Represent TAC RMP at industry conferences and network with county officials and staff
  • Monitor legislative changes, safety trends, and emerging issues to advise members
  • Contribute best practices and develop educational resources such as articles, tools, and guides
  • Document member interactions and submit timely reports and expense reports
  • Collaborate on internal projects and program development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, occupational health and safety, science, engineering, or related field; or at least three years of risk control experience in occupational health and safety and risk management
  • Experience with county or other governmental entities preferred
  • Risk control, risk management, or safety and security-related professional designations or certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of risk management and safety programs, risk mitigation techniques, and risk control for public works operations
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws
  • Knowledge of OSHA and National Fire Protection Association standards
  • Knowledge of evaluating risk exposures affecting facility preservation
  • Knowledge of Texas Workers’ Compensation laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in adult learning strategies for training diverse adult audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism when representing TAC with elected officials, members, and others
  • Excellent time management and record keeping
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to operate an assigned vehicle for frequent business travel
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, including frequent overnight stays
  • Ability to drive and conduct inspections for extended periods
  • Ability to climb and walk on rooftops and in tight spaces
  • Ability to lift or move boxes and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat, and climb stairs
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Agreement to sign the TAC Photo/Video Release Form
