Agency Instructor I – Water Program
Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service - TEEXAgency Instructor I role focusing on training specialty skilled courses for water utilities. Collaborating with the Agency Training Manager to enhance learner success and curriculum effectiveness.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in training various specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within the Water Program.
- Utilize knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success.
- Perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or provide technical assistance in a specialty area.
- Use a variety of media to present course material.
- Assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content to meet learner needs.
- Maintain technical competence and skills.
- Report to the Agency Training Manager.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Texas Class "B" Water license (or higher).
- Texas Class "B" Wastewater license (or higher) or Wastewater Collection II or III.
- 60 hours of classroom instructional experience OR Completion of approved Instructor training courses in: 1. Methods of Teaching OR Effective Instructional Techniques AND 2. Instructional Design and Evaluation OR Organizational and Use of Training Materials OR – the ability to attain within 6 months of employment.
- Will consider an Associate’s Degree with five years of experience in the operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems OR a High School Diploma/GED with seven years of experience in the operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
