About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients
- Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
- Design and develop plans and specifications
- Observe and inspect construction for compliance with plans and specifications
- Write, prepare, and review related engineering reports
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates
- Track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes
- Research and resolve design and construction problems
- Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports
- Communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards; participate in pre-task planning and report safety concerns
- Lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects
- Manage detailed phases of moderately sized and complex projects
- Independently perform projects or segments of larger projects
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned project work
- Collaborate with senior project managers on larger and more complex projects
- Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations, and modifications
- Perform quality control reviews of proposals
- Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members
- Interact with clients and project teams on scopes, progress, findings, and recommendations
- Participate in marketing, sales, and business development
- Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff
- Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer
- Begin the mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- Geotechnical engineering preferred
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be required
