About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients
  • Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
  • Design and develop plans and specifications
  • Observe and inspect construction for compliance with plans and specifications
  • Write, prepare, and review related engineering reports
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates
  • Track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes
  • Research and resolve design and construction problems
  • Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports
  • Communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards; participate in pre-task planning and report safety concerns
  • Lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects
  • Manage detailed phases of moderately sized and complex projects
  • Independently perform projects or segments of larger projects
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned project work
  • Collaborate with senior project managers on larger and more complex projects
  • Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations, and modifications
  • Perform quality control reviews of proposals
  • Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members
  • Interact with clients and project teams on scopes, progress, findings, and recommendations
  • Participate in marketing, sales, and business development
  • Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff
  • Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer
  • Begin the mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Geotechnical engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5–8 years' experience
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be required
