About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients
Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
Design and develop plans and specifications
Observe and inspect construction for compliance with plans and specifications
Write, prepare, and review related engineering reports
Prepare proposals and cost estimates
Track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes
Research and resolve design and construction problems
Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for reports
Communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams
Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards; participate in pre-task planning and report safety concerns
Lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects
Manage detailed phases of moderately sized and complex projects
Independently perform projects or segments of larger projects
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned project work
Collaborate with senior project managers on larger and more complex projects
Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations, and modifications
Perform quality control reviews of proposals
Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members
Interact with clients and project teams on scopes, progress, findings, and recommendations
Participate in marketing, sales, and business development
Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff
Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer
Begin the mentoring and application process for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
Geotechnical engineering preferred
Minimum 5–8 years' experience
Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be required
