About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of geotechnical projects and clients
Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
Design and develop plans and specifications
Conduct observation and inspection and prepare, write, and review related reports
Review drawings and construction for compliance with plans and specifications
Prepare proposals and cost estimates
Track and evaluate project progress and budgets and recommend changes
Research and resolve design and construction problems
Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports
Communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams
Lead safety efforts and promote pre-task planning
Monitor and improve project quality and manage project-related risk
Provide technical direction for routine, unique, and complex projects
Conceptualize initial designs or investigative approaches for major project phases
Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work
Review complex investigation projects and supervise analysis and recommendations in client reports
Lead technical training
Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development
Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel
Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer after training and vetting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 8-11 years’ experience
A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required
