About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engineering and consulting services for a broad array of geotechnical projects and clients
  • Perform and/or lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
  • Design and develop plans and specifications
  • Conduct observation and inspection and prepare, write, and review related reports
  • Review drawings and construction for compliance with plans and specifications
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates
  • Track and evaluate project progress and budgets and recommend changes
  • Research and resolve design and construction problems
  • Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports
  • Communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams
  • Lead safety efforts and promote pre-task planning
  • Monitor and improve project quality and manage project-related risk
  • Provide technical direction for routine, unique, and complex projects
  • Conceptualize initial designs or investigative approaches for major project phases
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work
  • Review complex investigation projects and supervise analysis and recommendations in client reports
  • Lead technical training
  • Provide leadership in marketing, sales, and business development
  • Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel
  • Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer after training and vetting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 8-11 years’ experience
  • A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required
