About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data, including soil and groundwater, to develop conclusions about environmental and geologic site conditions
- Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections
- Collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects
- Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils, including boring investigations and soil type classification
- Interpret soil, bedrock, and groundwater elevation and quality data
- Prepare written plans and reports for site investigations, assessments, and remediation activities
- Support construction projects involving earthwork and structural foundations
- Conduct well design and sampling, environmental assessments, Phase I/II site assessments, and seismic risk assessments
- Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning
- Maintain quality standards on projects
- Conduct site testing and make recommendations for systems design on smaller projects
- Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection
- Direct and supervise field staff performing sampling, testing, data collection, and documentation
- Develop written client proposals for senior-level approval
- Evaluate moderately complex laboratory and field data and compile written reports
- Participate in client meetings and project communications
- Oversee work performed by lower-level Geologists/Hydrogeologists
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ related experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required
- Certification in field of expertise preferred
