About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and develop the Frontend, Backend, and QA teams
Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement
Define team structures, processes, and career paths
Advise leadership on technology strategy and investment decisions
Own the technical architecture across exchange, portfolio management, custody, and analytics products
Drive technical decisions on tooling, frameworks, and infrastructure
Own the platform-wide QA strategy, including test automation, release quality gates, and incident management
Improve monitoring, observability, and incident response practices
Ensure systems and processes meet security and operational resilience standards for a MiCA-licensed CASP
Partner with compliance and legal teams on regulatory requirements, audits, and risk assessments
Establish best practices for data protection, access management, and secure development
Translate the product roadmap into technical execution with product management and design
Present technology strategy, delivery status, and key decisions to senior leadership
Bridge engineering and the broader organization to ensure transparency and alignment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experienced technology leader combining engineering expertise with people leadership
Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams covering development and QA
Track record of international transformation and integration projects
7+ years of experience in software engineering
3+ years in an engineering leadership role such as Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, CTO, or similar
Strong hands-on backend development experience with C# / .NET
Solid understanding of modern frontend development, ideally Flutter
Experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS
Familiarity with Vercel is a plus
Experience establishing and scaling Agile delivery processes and QA practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Background in tax consultancy, fintech, digital assets, blockchain technology, or regulated financial environments
Understanding of security, operational resilience, and compliance requirements in regulated industries such as MiCA, DORA, or ISO 27001
Experience with trading platforms, custody solutions, or high-availability financial systems
Experience working with distributed, remote-first engineering teams across multiple time zones and communication cultures
German language C1 level is nice to have, not required
