About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the end-to-end zero-touch provisioning pipeline from bare-metal switch boot through production readiness with zero human intervention
- Build intent-based configuration generation using network source-of-truth/IPAM data, GitOps deployment, validation, and safe rollout/rollback
- Establish network validation and pre-deployment snapshot/digital-twin testing
- Build streaming telemetry, metrics, and logging pipelines using gNMI/OpenConfig
- Instrument RoCE health, optics and link errors, BGP/EVPN state, capacity, and utilization
- Deliver actionable dashboards and alerting for the network team
- Gather requirements and build self-service APIs and interfaces
- Partner with Network Engineering so tooling reflects network operations and turn-up processes
- Hire, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers and SREs
- Own roadmap, prioritization, delivery, technical direction, and engineering standards
- Ensure integration with infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, secrets, identity, and observability tooling
- Apply software engineering rigor through code review, testing, release management, and on-call ownership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience building network automation at scale, ideally at a hyperscaler, large cloud, or large-scale datacenter/AI-infrastructure operator
- Experience building or being a core contributor to an end-to-end ZTP/device-provisioning system
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and/or Go
- Production experience with version control, testing, CI/CD, code review, release management, and on-call
- Hands-on experience with datacenter Clos fabrics
- Knowledge of BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, and ideally RoCEv2/RDMA for GPU networks at scale
- Fluency with gNMI/gNOI, OpenConfig/YANG, NETCONF, source-of-truth systems such as NetBox/Nautobot, NOS platforms such as SONiC/FRR or vendor equivalents, and Nornir/NAPALM/Ansible
- Experience with observability and telemetry pipelines such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience running services on Kubernetes/containers
- Leadership experience managing a team or serving as clear technical owner of a platform
- Preferred: GPU/AI training or inference clusters and backend networks
- Preferred: AMD networking ecosystem, Pensando DPUs, Ultra Ethernet, or Ethernet-based RDMA fabrics
- Preferred: whitebox/disaggregated networking and SONiC at scale
- Preferred: network validation/digital-twin tooling such as Batfish or containerlab
- Preferred: multi-site/multi-region datacenter buildouts
- Authorization to work in the United States is required
