About the role

  • The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering and Manufacturing teams by assisting with process observation, time studies, and process documentation reviews within a manufacturing environment
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing team members to learn assigned production processes
  • Observe manufacturing operations to understand workflow, equipment usage, and process interactions
  • Conduct time studies on assigned key processes using established methods
  • Develop and update line balance charts based on observed data
  • Review process documentation for observed part numbers
  • Verify documentation accuracy against actual process execution
  • Communicate findings clearly with Engineering and Manufacturing team members
  • Document observations, data, and conclusions in a clear and organized manner.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; ability to work with time and rates)
  • Strong observation skills with attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of common manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to follow procedures and accurately collect data
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Prior manufacturing or shop-floor experience is a plus but not required.
