About the role
- The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering and Manufacturing teams by assisting with process observation, time studies, and process documentation reviews within a manufacturing environment
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing team members to learn assigned production processes
- Observe manufacturing operations to understand workflow, equipment usage, and process interactions
- Conduct time studies on assigned key processes using established methods
- Develop and update line balance charts based on observed data
- Review process documentation for observed part numbers
- Verify documentation accuracy against actual process execution
- Communicate findings clearly with Engineering and Manufacturing team members
- Document observations, data, and conclusions in a clear and organized manner.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; ability to work with time and rates)
- Strong observation skills with attention to detail
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of common manufacturing equipment
- Ability to follow procedures and accurately collect data
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Prior manufacturing or shop-floor experience is a plus but not required.
