  • Provide expertise to support Projects (and Studies) throughout all project phases
  • Perform and document relevant analyses; support implementation of industrial project activities
  • Perform in-house design and trade-offs to support project specific technology developments
  • Carry out computer simulations at system/subsystem level for assessment of end-to-end RF comms subsystems and TT&C/PDT subsystems performance
  • Provide hands-on RF comms subsystems modelling and testing support to projects with coordination with Laboratory Service
  • Identify, implement, validate, and operate relevant section tools, including software, hardware and data related tools
  • Participate in development, validation, deployment and maintenance of relevant internal software tools and databases
  • Operate tools to support Projects or ESA R&D activities
  • Provide technical inputs to definition of technology roadmaps and contribute to reviews and meetings
  • Monitor scientific and technological trends and maintain state-of-the-art expertise in RF comms subsystems
  • Contribute to definition of technical requirements and statements of work for tasks performed by industry
  • Review output from industry/academia and provide inputs to ESA Technical Officer; conduct software or hardware tests in Divisional laboratory when relevant
  • Specify, design, develop, verify and accept TT&C/PDT subsystems including associated EGSE and related equipment
  • Design and implement functions and techniques: modulation, signal synchronisation, digital signal processing, error control coding
  • Support industrial activities and procurement of TT&C/PDT subsystems and associated EGSE and equipment
  • Apportion requirements and generate specifications from subsystem down to equipment and antenna
  • Study and implement new architectures, technologies and techniques for TT&C/PDT subsystems; support harmonisation process
  • TT&C/PDT subsystems assembly, integration, testing (AIT), characterisation and validation activities
  • Develop simulation tools and paradigms for design, development and performance evaluation of TT&C and PDT subsystems
  • Implement laboratory activities associated to testing, characterisation and performance assessment of TT&C and PDT subsystems
