About the role
- Attend to Automation Engineering demands with emphasis on Industrial Automation projects within the Equipment Engineering scope of Fertilizer and Gas-Chemical units
- Monitor and execute projects in the area of expertise for new units and operational improvements (retrofits) of automation and control systems
- Prepare, adapt and/or review technical specifications for industrial automation projects involving the automation and control discipline
- Perform failure and operational risk analyses, and investigate accidents and incidents involving automation and control systems
- Provide automation and control technical support to operational units
- Supervise field commissioning and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of automation and control systems within the Gas area
- Develop and/or correct control logic
- Create and review maintenance plans and procedures for automation and control equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation and Control Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering - registration with the regional engineering council (CREA)
- Minimum of 7+ years proven experience in automation, electronics, or electrical engineering with emphasis on automation systems
- Preferred experience in automation systems for refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing stations, mining operations, steel mills, and power utilities
- Preferred experience with SCADA (iFIX) and Rockwell PLCs
- Knowledge of failure analysis in supervision and control systems
- Ability to prepare and review technical specifications for modernization projects of industrial automation and control systems, proposing solutions and recommendations for recurring failures, equipment obsolescence, and necessary adaptations
- Solid knowledge of modernization projects, improvements, backups, uploads and downloads of supervisory, automation and industrial process control systems
- Knowledge of SCADA control systems, automation and control networks, and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
