About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in validating potential siting areas for new wind projects in collaboration with Development and Mapping
- Select and position turbines to maximize energy production and minimize CAPEX, while ensuring compliance with wind farm design standards, constructability, and environmental and regulatory constraints
- Calculate the energy yield of wind projects
- Define the methodology, calculate losses, and estimate uncertainties
- Oversee on-site measurement campaigns (met masts, LiDAR)
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, decommissioning and storage of measurement equipment
- Ensure data collection with maximum availability
- Process measured on-site data and construct the wind model
- Commission, supervise and validate acoustic studies
- Commission, supervise and validate other specific studies (shadow flicker, snow/ice, loads, others)
- Support Project Management and the Purchasing & Logistics department during turbine tendering and the turbine supply contract signing
- Validate technical annexes (power curve, acoustic curve, site climatic conditions, site suitability assessment)
- Define and improve methodologies related to your area of expertise
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree from an engineering school or a university Master’s degree with specialization in fluid dynamics, meteorology, or mathematics
- 5+ years of experience in this role, including at least 3 years on projects in France
- Experience in analysis and processing of data collected by meteorological stations
- Proficiency with Windographer and OpenWind
- Knowledge of Meteodyn, windPRO, or PyWake is a plus
- Proven experience and capacity for innovation required to understand the needs of each project and adapt calculation methodology to available information, project stage and response deadlines
- Familiarity with the activity, as well as the capabilities and responsibilities of the different departments involved
- Knowledge of international standards applicable to calculations and studies in the field
- English: C1 level expected (working language with external companies)
