About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take the lead on website projects working closely with Account Managers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Build and customize WordPress themes and plugins, write efficient PHP code, and manage MySQL databases to enhance functionality and performance.
- Customize Webflow's CMS, integrate third-party APIs, and write custom code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to expand capabilities.
- Create and modify Shopify themes using Liquid, develop custom apps, and integrate APIs to streamline e-commerce functionality.
- Work closely with designers and frontend developers to implement UI/UX designs and ensure seamless functionality across projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Set up WordPress sites on a server, install, config, core plugins, etc.
- Updating and fixing WordPress-related issues on a number of existing client sites
- Taking design concepts to replicate into WordPress
- Develop custom-coded WordPress themes using well-tested methodologies
- Test your work on a wide variety of devices to deliver error-free work
- Test site speed optimisation
- Help the team with additional technical knowledge
- Jump into plugin code and fix issues
- Analyse and develop streamlined workflows
- Troubleshoot any and all issues with websites, hosting, plugins, etc.
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Perform UI tests to optimize performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in computer science or a related field
- 3+ years of WordPress web development
- A strong portfolio of work
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as HTML, CSS3, JQuery/Javascript, PHP, MySQL
- Good knowledge of and experience working with API integrations and JSON data feeds.
- Familiar with Webflow and Figma
- Working knowledge of CMS framework and experience with e-commerce platforms.
- Experience developing cross-browser responsive websites
- Good understanding of Web Accessibility and security
- Excellent analytical and time management skills
