About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deploy, administer, and optimize VMware ESXi, vCenter, and Omnissa VDI environments across multiple physical sites.
Manage and maintain VDI infrastructure components, including connection brokers, gateways, profile management, load balancing, and virtual desktop lifecycle operations.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, availability, and resource utilization, resolving issues related to virtualization, networking, connectivity, and system performance.
Implement and maintain virtualization technologies, including distributed switching, VLANs, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and integration with enterprise network, storage, and security architectures.
Perform system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation to ensure a secure, compliant, and highly available virtualized environment.
Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to design, implement, and enhance virtualization solutions that support mission and operational requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and current DoD IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; additional experience may be substituted for education.
Experience administering VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN, vSphere Networking, and Omnissa Horizon technologies (App Volumes, DEM, UAGs).
Proficiency with Active Directory, Windows Server, FSLogix, Dell Wyse management, virtualization best practices, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or PowerCLI for automation tasks.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) certifications.
