About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate pipeline segments for eligibility and feasibility under the Integrity Management Alternative
  • Assess integrity threats, asset characteristics, and business goals
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions across technical, operational, and regulatory perspectives
  • Identify, prioritize, and track projects required to meet programmatic requirements
  • Monitor regulatory deadlines, compliance milestones, and program performance
  • Maintain documentation demonstrating compliance and supporting audit readiness
  • Analyze technical, operational, and regulatory information and translate requirements into practical, risk-based business solutions
  • Support interactions with federal and state regulators, including inspection preparation, regulatory communications, and responses to information requests
  • Participate in developing procedures, guidance documents, and regulatory interpretations
  • Develop and communicate regulatory interpretations, compliance positions, and practical guidance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of pipeline safety and integrity management through innovation, technology, and strategic problem-solving
  • Manage multiple concurrent activities while balancing technical, operational, and regulatory priorities
  • Support other alternative program initiatives as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6-10 years of related industry and pipeline integrity engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Canadian candidates: registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing in the prevailing jurisdiction
  • Understanding of US Federal Pipeline Regulations (CFR 192) and standards
  • Experience in audits and regulatory engagements
  • Ability to work independently, display creativity, and exercise sound judgment
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience developing technical procedures and processes for safety, compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, task completion, and change leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, decision-making, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Preferred: strong knowledge of Integrity Management Programs and principles
  • Preferred: comprehensive understanding of DOT Regulation 49 CFR 192
  • US candidates: registered or eligible for Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle; driving is an essential job function
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based, without restrictions
  • Background screening required, potentially including criminal and/or credit checks
