About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform inspections, troubleshooting and repair on actuators, valves, stem seals, and related components
- Plan and lead pipeline isolation, blowdowns, gas handling activities, and air mover/expeller operations
- Conduct pipeline purging, loading, bleed-ins, pressurization, and return-to-service activities
- Support operation of transfer compressors for pipeline pull-downs
- Assist with gas leak surveys and in-line inspection programs
- Complete preventative and corrective maintenance, PMs/CMs, and work orders
- Enter data into job plans and create notifications in SAP
- Operate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipment
- Read and interpret alignment sheets and facility drawings
- Lead and manage low-complexity projects, including contractor coordination and monitoring
- Coach, mentor, and train other personnel
- Complete as-built prints and update pipeline schematics documentation
- Identify encroachment issues and manage unauthorized activities
- Conduct line locates and assist with third-party crossing management
- Complete LDAR repairs and planned/corrective maintenance
- Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TC Energy safety, health, environment, and risk standards
- Operate ATVs, air compressors, generators, and light towers
- Perform tasks from other disciplines
- Act as primary isolation coordinator
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Journeyman certification in a trade or two years of post-secondary training
- 5 years of relevant related industry experience
- Preferred: 5–10 years of relevant pipeline-related work experience
- Experience with valve operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair
- Experience operating and maintaining high-pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilities
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or SAP experience
- Excellent work safety record and safe work attitude
- Valid driver's license and driver's abstract
- Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
- Travel up to 70% of the work schedule
- Work extended hours up to 30% of the work schedule
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide emergency support
- Work in adverse weather and temperatures
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based, without restrictions
- Background screening, potentially including criminal and/or credit checks
