About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform inspections, troubleshooting and repair on actuators, valves, stem seals, and related components
- Plan and lead pipeline isolation, blowdowns, and gas handling activities
- Conduct pipeline purging, loading, bleed-ins, pressurization, and return-to-service activities
- Support operation of transfer compressors for pipeline pull-downs
- Assist with gas leak surveys and in-line inspection programs
- Complete preventative and corrective maintenance and close out work orders
- Enter maintenance data, create notifications, and update job plans in SAP
- Operate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipment
- Read and interpret alignment sheets
- Lead and manage low-complexity projects and coordinate contractor or third-party activities
- Coach, mentor, and train other personnel
- Complete as-built prints and update pipeline schematic documentation
- Identify and manage encroachment issues and unauthorized activities
- Complete LDAR repairs and planned/corrective maintenance
- Ensure facilities and personnel comply with safety, health, environmental, and risk standards
- Operate ATVs, air compressors, generators, and light towers
- Perform tasks from other disciplines and extensive on-the-road work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Journeyman certification in a trade or two years of post-secondary training
- 2 years of related work experience
- Excellent work safety record and safe work attitude
- Preferred: 5 years of relevant pipeline-related work experience
- Experience with valve operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair preferred
- Experience operating and maintaining high-pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilities preferred
- Experience with CMMS and/or SAP preferred
- Valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract required
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based, without restrictions
- Ability to travel to other company locations, estimated up to 70% of the work schedule
- Ability to work extended hours, estimated up to 30% of the work schedule
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and provide emergency support
- Ability to work in adverse weather and temperatures
