About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engineering activities for Growth and Interconnect projects, including natural gas pipeline, meter station, and related facility projects.
  • Support project development by gathering and evaluating technical data to determine the optimal engineering approach during early project stages.
  • Manage engineering scope, schedules, deliverables, and resource planning to support successful project execution.
  • Oversee and coordinate internal and third-party engineering resources, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Develop and execute engineering contractor procurement strategies, including preparation of bid documentation, evaluation of proposals, and selection of engineering service providers.
  • Manage engineering contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders and support effective contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables, including designs, calculations, material requisitions, cost estimates, bills of material, and technical evaluations.
  • Lead multidisciplinary design reviews and facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure engineering solutions align with project objectives and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain engineering and material procurement schedules, ensuring critical milestones and project commitments are achieved.
  • Initiate and support material procurement activities, including review of material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, supplier qualifications, and compliance with company specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership during detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
  • Resolve technical issues, Requests for Information (RFIs), and design conflicts, while coordinating support from technical subject matter experts and external engineering providers as required.
  • Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, complete, and properly managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor engineering performance and project execution metrics, incorporating lessons learned and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct site visits as required to support design development, construction execution, commissioning, and issue resolution.
  • Develop engineering recommendations that influence project outcomes, business decisions, and asset performance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers, regulators, consultants, and other project partners.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to peers and team members while fostering knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of safety, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement in all aspects of project execution.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive engineering and project execution experience in the natural gas, pipeline, or energy industry.
  • Experience supporting the design, construction, commissioning, operation, or maintenance of natural gas facilities and pipeline systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulations, including 49 CFR Part 192.
  • Understanding of gas transmission operations, system reliability, asset lifecycle management, and facility integrity.
  • Experience managing engineering deliverables, technical issues, and multidisciplinary stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced project environment.
