About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and manage federal, state, and local tax returns for a diverse client portfolio, primarily Partnerships (Form 1065), S-Corporations (Form 1120-S), C-Corporations (Form 1120), and complex individual (Form 1040) returns, schedules, and workpapers
- Review less complex business and individual returns prepared by offshore teams for technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance
- Conduct detailed tax research on complex technical issues
- Prepare responses to federal and state taxing-authority notices and assist with tax-audit support
- Own client engagements from document collection through final filing, managing deadlines and coordinating internal project support
- Provide guidance and technical support to team members
- Maintain professional client relationships, gather data, and communicate tax implications and filing status
- Contribute to the company Knowledge Base with client FAQs and best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–6 years of tax-preparation experience with increasing responsibility and complexity
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
- Advanced qualification (e.g. CAP, EA) in progress is required; completion is preferred
- Familiarity with efficiency, workflow, communication, and tax-preparation software, including G-Suite, CRM platforms, and UltraTax
- Knowledge of corporate and personal tax-planning strategies
- Additional experience in accounting, finance advisory, and/or consulting services
- Ability to manage projects independently and take responsibility for complex outcomes
- Exceptional attention to detail in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to communicate complex tax issues verbally to clients and in writing through research memos and review notes
- Ability to improve and streamline workflow processes
- Ability to manage communication and issue resolution with external teams, including offshore partners
- High ethical standards; honesty and integrity
