About the role
- Participate in financial projects as required including system testing and data validation to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business initiatives to facilitate smooth transition to new systems and processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture detailed business and functional requirements for system and reporting purposes.
- Prepare and conduct thorough financial analysis (i.e. variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial performance metrics) to identify key insights and drivers impacting the company's financial results.
- Provide ad-hoc research and analysis to drive informed decision-making for senior management.
- Support the monthly and year-end financial reporting process.
- Complete other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- CPA/CMA designation required
- 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and system reporting
- Proficiency in sophisticated ERP system such as Workday, SAP, Oracle is an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required
- Ability to balance multiple assignments, both immediate and strategic, at the same time
- Strong project management skills and understanding of business processes
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinker with good written and oral communication skills
- A quick learner with strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to embrace change and adapt to new technology
- Ability to provide an innovative perspective to current practices
- Previous experience in Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is an asset
