Systems Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute Requirements Decomposition in the problem space
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze Voice of the Customer (VOC)
- Translate VOC into Stakeholder Needs and derive Stakeholder Requirements
- Build out the behavior of MBSE models that helps derive stakeholder requirements and clearly defines the problems for the solution space
- Perform requirements gap and overlap analysis against existing requirements
- Train and mentor members on requirements decomposition and MBSE modeling
- Manage requirements in JAMA Connect
- Drive the development, documentation, promotion, and enforcement of enterprise-wide systems engineering standards
- Build and maintain an MBSE Governance model for program processes, group functions, and strategic objective alignment.
- Develop and conduct training to ensure adoption and compliance with Systems Engineering Standards
- Execute additional systems engineering activities across the program lifecycle as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience
- 3+ years Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience using SysML v1 and tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture
- Familiarity with proper requirements decomposition and requirements management
- Knowledge of established MBSE methodologies (e.g., MagicGrid, OOSEM)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive adoption of new processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with technical teams and government stakeholders
- Required to work at WPAFB a minimum of two days a week, other work can be remote, or in Dayton office.
