About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support environmental investigation and remediation projects involving CERCLA, RCRA, MMRP, PFAS, HTRW, and other environmental restoration programs for federal and commercial clients by providing technical expertise.
  • Independently plan and execute technical investigations with minimal oversight while supporting Project Managers in project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and successful project delivery.
  • Support/lead field investigations involving drilling oversight, well installation, soil logging, groundwater monitoring, aquifer testing, remediation implementation, and environmental sampling activities.
  • Prepare, review, and provide technical quality assurance for a wide range of federal environmental restoration deliverables, including decision documents, investigation reports, remedial planning documents, conceptual site models, monitoring reports, work plans, and quality assurance plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to staff scientists, geologists, engineers, and field technicians to support professional development and technical excellence.
  • Develop 3-dimensional (3D) environmental and hydrogeologic models using Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS) or provide oversight and technical expertise during development.
  • Evaluate hydrogeologic conditions and develop conceptual site models to support groundwater flow interpretation, contaminant fate and transport assessments, plume characterization, and investigation design.
  • Prepare technical presentations and project status updates to clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Contribute to proposal development, including technical approaches, work plans, scopes, cost estimating, and responses to federal and commercial solicitations.
  • Collaborate with corporate safety and quality personnel to ensure adherence to applicable health, safety, and quality requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 15 years of related environmental consulting, environmental restoration, remediation, geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or technical project support experience; 20+ years preferred.
  • Strong technical experience supporting one or more of the following: Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste; Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); Emerging contaminants; CERCLA/Superfund investigations and remediation; RCRA corrective actions; Military Munitions Response Program; Groundwater investigations and remediation; Environmental compliance programs.
  • Minimum 10 years of field experience supporting environmental investigation and remediation projects, including field leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary technical teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience overseeing drilling, sampling, and remediation subcontractors.
  • Experience interpreting hydrogeologic and geologic conditions and supporting conceptual site model development.
  • Prior experience supporting federal government clients, including DoD, USACE, USAF, USN, EPA, USFS, and BIA.
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation, technical approaches, and scope development preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical writing and document review capability.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and deadlines.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor with a positive, solution-oriented attitude and personal accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental data management and visualization tools.
