About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support in building corporate communications strategies that meet client business objectives
  • Develop content, events, activations, and outreach for advocacy and community engagement campaigns
  • Amplify campaigns through media and external communications
  • Monitor media and public policy daily and act on reactionary opportunities
  • Build and maintain relevant, up-to-date media lists
  • Craft pitches with strong news angles and secure media coverage
  • Track secured coverage and share results with clients
  • Tailor pitches to intended outlets and journalists
  • Produce accurate coverage reports with relevant metrics
  • Draft and edit marketing copy for social media campaigns and print/digital assets
  • Oversee graphic design projects and coordinate with internal and third-party designers
  • Coordinate videography and photography shoots, including storyboards and scripts
  • Develop creative solutions and recommendations for clients and account teams
  • Strategize new approaches to challenges
  • Coordinate events and activations as required
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of communications/PR/digital marketing experience at an agency or in-house
  • Excellent copywriting skills across marketing, digital, and communications needs
  • Proven track record pitching media to secure coverage
  • Knowledge of the media and political landscape
  • Strong knowledge or experience in communications or marketing
  • Exceptional creativity and ability to identify stories and engage stakeholders
  • Understanding of natural resources, mining, real estate development, healthcare, and government industries
  • Awareness of current news and policy updates affecting clients
  • Experience in asset development and crafting marketing copy
  • Resourcefulness and ability to find answers independently
  • Ability to manage priorities and balance a deadline-driven workload accurately
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a high-performing team environment
