About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain, calibrate and operate field and laboratory instruments measuring noise, heat, light, ventilation, humidity and air contaminants
Calibrate and organise servicing of PPE fit testing equipment
Execute daily monitoring activities under the approved Health Monitoring Plan
Contribute to the development and review of the Health Risk Assessment, Health Management Plan, Noise Management Plan and Potable Water Quality Management Plan
Enter monitoring results into Talison’s Hygiene Database and SRS in a timely manner
Ensure personnel and contract partners understand occupational hygiene requirements and processes
Collaborate with Talison management and personnel to identify and evaluate occupational health issues
Advise on controls and risk mitigation strategies
Provide occupational hygiene services, practical advice, guidance and support across operational areas
Support compliance with legislative and internal standards through a risk-based approach

Requirements

What you’ll need

High level of technical and practical skills in occupational hygiene instrumentation and sampling equipment
Demonstrated practical application of legislation, standards and codes of practice relevant to occupational hygiene
Knowledge of the WHS Act 2020
Knowledge of WHS (Mining) Regulations 2022
Familiarity with Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) requirements
Demonstrated familiarity with the DEMIRS Reporting System (SRS)
Demonstrated experience engaging and collaborating with all work groups
Accredited Noise Officer (WA) desirable
Certified Mine Air Quality Technician desirable
Certified Mine Air Quality Officer desirable
HPE and RPE Fit Testing Competency desirable
Cert IV in Occupational Hygiene desirable, or willingness to attain
Internal Auditor qualification desirable, or willingness to attain
