About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to the opening report/pre-report (preliminary proceedings, §§21–22 InsO)
  • Prepare and participate in the report hearing with the creditors’ report (§156 InsO)
  • Prepare interim reports and the final report including accounting (§66 InsO)
  • Assist with the final list of claims (§189 InsO), final distribution (§§196–197 InsO) and termination of proceedings (§200 InsO)
  • Support supplementary distributions (§203 InsO)
  • Process claim filings (§174 InsO), maintain claim schedules (§175 InsO), prepare and attend the verification hearing (§176 InsO)
  • Manage liquidity and KPIs, supplier/customer communication, personnel measures; contract and employment law matters in proceedings (§§108, 113 InsO)
  • Provide input on avoidance actions/insolvency challenges (§§129 ff. InsO) and director/organ liability (e.g. §15b InsO)
  • Support insolvency plan proceedings (§§217 ff. InsO) and – depending on the mandate – self-administration (Eigenverwaltung, §§270 ff. InsO)
  • Cash and insolvency estate monitoring, reconciliations, KPI reporting; support in reporting/managing estate insufficiency (§208 InsO)
  • Prepare (partial) business/asset deals, data room set-up and management, and bidder processes
  • Cooperate with the creditors’ committee (§§67–73 InsO) and the court; closely coordinate with the insolvency administration team, works council and investors
  • Provide technical coaching to junior staff, conduct peer reviews and transfer best practices; close, cross-office and cross-team collaboration — no silo mentality
  • Prioritise and communicate clearly during high-workload phases; proactively coordinate with the team to find suitable solutions for private commitments (e.g. childcare); willingness to handle ad-hoc issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 7 years’ practical experience in insolvency administration or in a specialised law firm
  • Broad, practice-oriented expert knowledge in insolvency administration: solid, hands-on competence in multiple core areas (case management, business continuation, claims management/maintaining schedules, insolvency accounting); sound additional knowledge in other areas — with a continuous overview of the overall proceedings
  • Expert track: no disciplinary management responsibilities – but demonstrable experience in technical supervision/mentoring, knowledge transfer and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset; no silo mentality
  • Excellent spoken and written German and English
  • Confident user of WinSolvenz and/or LEXolution (or a fast learner)
  • Realistic understanding of peak periods with high workloads; you prioritise, communicate clearly and work solution-oriented — we will jointly accommodate private commitments
