About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design linear controllers (e.g., PID) and advanced control strategies based on models obtained from response curves or phenomenological process equations.
  • Handle non-linearities in actuators (valves and variable-speed drives), process asymmetries, dead-time compensation, stability calculations, and generation of linearization functions.
  • Prepare performance reports and monitor control systems to evaluate project gains.
  • Deploy control systems and process optimization solutions.
  • Document and record interventions.
  • Maintain updated application repositories.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Control and Automation, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in Industrial Process Control applications.
  • Strong knowledge of process control: design, implementation, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Experience in projects using a programming language (Python, Lua, R).
  • Intermediate English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with PID controllers.
  • Experience with PLC programming.
  • Participation in field deployments of advanced control systems and/or as a specialist.
  • Experience with MPC and fuzzy controllers.
  • Knowledge of process data analysis for modeling and performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with the process stages of the mining, steelmaking, and seed agribusiness industries.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases.
  • Technical training in automation, instrumentation, or process-control related areas.
  • Enjoy working in a team;
  • Willingness to travel;

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to make decisions in complex situations;
  • Ability to maintain focus and work under pressure;
