About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain a reliable data foundation that supports analytics and business decision-making across the organization.
- Design and maintain robust data pipelines that collect, transform, and integrate data from various sources.
- Develop scalable, well-structured data models to enable fast analysis and efficient reporting.
- Improve and automate data integration and transformation workflows using tools such as KNIME.
- Identify opportunities to improve data architecture, workflows, and processing performance for scalability and reliability.
- Ensure high data quality and monitor data pipelines for inconsistencies.
- Collaborate closely with analysts, business stakeholders, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, best practices, and the ongoing development of the data engineering setup within the organization.
- Document data models, pipelines, and automation processes for transparency and maintainability.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree in computer science, business informatics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable data-focused role.
- Strong experience working with MSSQL databases and advanced SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with KNIME for building and maintaining data workflows and Data Apps is essential, ideally in a production or business environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps is an advantage.
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes.
- Solid programming skills for data processing and automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar languages).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data pipeline architecture, and scalable data processing.
- Experience in automation and optimization of data workflows.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent German and good English skills.
- Experience in the media or advertising industry is a plus.
