Senior Accountant
T&M AssociatesSenior Accountant preparing financial information and reports for multifamily housing company. Collaborating with accounting staff to ensure timely financial processes and compliance with GAAP standards.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist with preparation for the year-end audit and schedule requests of external auditors
- Assist with the establishment, documentation, and continuous improvement of all financial processes, workflows, and forms
- Guides accounting staff and consultants by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information for investors, lenders, and partners.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Multifamily Property Management Accounting (required)
- Experience in Yardi or affordable housing programs (required)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with strong emphasis on Excel)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management and organizational skills
