About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the dedicated Technical Lead / Solutions Architect for the project
- Drive and consolidate technical decisions and the platform's integration architecture
- Ensure adherence to the institution's architectural principles and standards
- Lead discussions among the different teams involved
- Align integration contracts (APIs, events, canonical models, callbacks/webhooks) and the responsibilities of each system
- Lead the architectural decision-making process with the project team
- Record and justify decisions (e.g., ADRs)
- Propose the detailed solution design based on the existing blueprint / high-level architecture
- Specify authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth2), routing and proxies in the API Gateway
- Liaise with the Enterprise Architecture team to validate proposed solutions
- Engage with the project sponsor and user teams to clarify and guide issues that impact the solution architecture
- Support the preparation of materials and technical reports required by the project's governance bodies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- System integration (event-driven vs. request-response)
- Deep expertise in synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns
- Publishing and consuming events
- Messaging (e.g., Kafka), queues, topics and dead letter queues (DLQ)
- Analysis of trade-offs between event-driven and request-response models
- Authentication and Authorization; OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
- Management of tokens, scopes and credentials
- Security patterns applied to integrations between on-premises systems and SaaS
- REST APIs and API Gateway/Manager
- Design of versioned and documented REST APIs
- Use of API Gateway/Manager (e.g., Axway) as a governance point
- Proxy configuration
- Rate limiting, transformation and routing policies
- Webhooks and callbacks
- Orchestration and choreography of distributed flows
- Compensating flows and the Saga pattern
- Canonical data models
- Mediation and translation to systems' native formats
- Advanced knowledge of transactional systems; consistency and financial reconciliation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields (or equivalent proven experience)
- Established experience as a Solutions Architect and/or Technical Lead on medium to large system integration projects
