About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage cross-functional technology teams
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
- Drive technology initiatives and ensure successful project delivery
- Identify areas for improvement and implement process changes to increase efficiency
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into Java, React, and Python-based technology solutions
- Define or contribute to software architecture, technical designs, integration approaches, and implementation plans
- Develop and maintain scalable, secure, maintainable, and cost-effective applications
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for adoption
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, technical issues, and project priorities
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with relevant stakeholders
- Promote engineering practices, knowledge sharing, technical documentation, and continuous improvement
- Ensure project outcomes meet agreed scope, timelines, quality standards, and business objectives
- Consider security, operational efficiency, cost management, and sustainability when selecting and implementing technology solutions
- Participate in Agile meetings and collaborate with engineering, product, operations, security, and business stakeholders
- Monitor project progress, maintain technical documentation, and facilitate technical decisions within governance boundaries
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in technology leadership and software development
- Strong technical expertise across multiple software development and technology areas
- Experience developing and supporting applications using Java, React, and Python
- Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional technology teams
- Experience managing projects, workstreams, or technology initiatives
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and project management tools
- Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship
- Experience evaluating new technologies and supporting technology adoption decisions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
- Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, databases, data structures, RESTful APIs, microservices, application integration, and distributed systems
- Experience with software development lifecycle practices, version control, code reviews, testing, deployment, release processes, and production support
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, data integrity, and secure data handling
- Knowledge of cloud deployment, scalability, availability, monitoring, cost management, and infrastructure
- Experience with React and component-based frontend development
- Experience with Java-based application frameworks and Python frameworks or libraries
- Understanding of secure software development, authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, secure APIs, and access controls
- Certifications in cloud computing, Agile, Scrum, project management, software architecture, or relevant technologies are preferred
- Technology consulting, financial services, banking, insurance, or complex enterprise experience is preferred
